Shelf for Sewing Supplies
This shelf was designed to keep my sewing supplies organized, but it’s got a little more personality than your average storage piece. Made from plywood and ceramic, the top tier is decorated with tiles featuring a playful portrait of my cat, Blanket, batting at a spool of ribbon. The second tier doubles as a desktop, providing an easy-access storage space for a group of ceramic jars and other small items used during sewing projects.
Inspired by mid-century modern design, this shelf diverges from the minimalist approach typically associated with the style. Instead, it blends practical functionality with a warm, welcoming aesthetic. It’s the perfect mix of design and function, with a bit of sentimental charm that makes it feel both useful and personal.
Designed to store sewing tools, buttons, fabrics, and all the essentials, this piece helps keep my workspace neat and organized without taking up too much space. More than just a functional shelf, though, it’s something that reflects my unique style and enhances my creative process. This project blends form and function in a way that makes both my studio and sewing more enjoyable, all while giving a nod to personal touches and a love for design.
