Finding Shelter, Hiding in Plain Sight We change the frequency I'm going there one day I and I survive
Our bodies have been turned into data mines. The goal of this collection is to create a set of systems/tools within clothing and products that enhance individual autonomy across both urban and natural landscapes. Through the clothes we wear on our bodies, we can begin to reclaim our freedom—whether through small functions that encourage active commuting, or larger systems that resist modern surveillance technologies like gait-tracking.
The clothing presented in this collection is designed to serve equally in the mountains and in the city, whilst pushing forward the stylistic agenda synthesized by the utopia/dystopia of modern life and the socio-political conflicts of the current day.
Utilizing novel manufacturing techniques, an urban camouflage is created. Pull back this exoskeleton and a functional layering system lies underneath. These garments aim to both highlight and obscure the silhouette of the human body, speaking to the need to both seek shelter and embrace modernity. Techno-pessimism / Techno-optimism. Handmade footwear pairs with each look of the collection, offering a stable foundation to move from the mountains to the dancefloor.
While this project seeks to enhance freedom of movement through anatomical pattern cutting and innovative textiles, it also aims to enhance freedom of expression and thought—bridging the gap between stylistic detailing and functional design to create a collection that promotes you as an individual.
