A Place of Return
"A Place of Return" investigates how metaphoric warmth manifests in our lives. This exploration is framed using a tent/canopy structure that serves as a meeting ground, inviting us to participate in community-based exchanges.
This project draws inspiration from the inherent warmth of Filipinos, where coming together to share stories, music and food is a part of their daily life. The tactile qualities of the space emphasize the tangible nature of warmth, while the flexible design allows for fluid movement and adaptive use. The structure was fabricated in collaboration and with the expertise of tent-maker Juan Langas in Binondo, Philippines.
"A Place of Return" serves as a reminder that warmth can be rekindled through simple acts that gather, share and offer rest.
