Internetted
Internetted is a study on the democratization of spaces - both online and in real life (IRL) - expressed through a three piece body of work that explores the intricacies of democracy within physical space, consumption, and the internet.
The Blocks are standard square milk crates paired with an open-source cap I designed. Exhibited as a set of ten, Blocks invites the audience to freely rearrange them as various functional spaces and objects. They operate with the intention of adapting to various social situations; conversation, meditation, dance, gameplay and protest.
The Feed, is a continuously printing archive of political memes collected from across the internet. It will be used in conjunction with a performance, You’re not Yours, provoking the dialogue and for the audience to rearrange the Blocks while engaging in memetically informed, politically radical conversation.
You’re not Yours, is both a pre-recorded performance and real time recording of The Blocks and The Feed. Both tapes will employ deepfake models, altering the identity of those engaging with the project in real time as well as the subject of the pre-recorded video, mimicking the effect of anonymity on the internet.
